Our mission.
The foundation supports underprivileged children and young people from ethnic minorities aged 14-21 who live in two foundation-owned dormitories in Mae Sariang (Northern Thailand). The children come from impoverished villages on the fringes of civilization in the mountains of Mae Hong Son province. If at all possible, the children have to walk for many hours to reach schools in the area.
The foundation has tackled this problem by building two community houses on the premises of the Boripat Suksa School and the local vocational school. The houses not only offer the children a home with beds, sanitary facilities, meals together and the opportunity to study in peace, but also intensive care from two school teachers. Every year 60 - 80 young people get the chance of a good school education.
For the past eight years, we have also been providing university scholarships to exceptionally talented students, enabling them to pursue their education at the highest level.
Apply as volunteer for Dr. Robert Dyckerhoff Stiftung and make a real impact on the lives of underprivileged children in beautiful Thailand. Our organization provides care, support, and education to underprivileged young people aged 14-19, living in our two dormitories on the school grounds of a secondary and vocational school in Mae Sariang, North Thailand. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with these amazing young people, building the skills they need to succeed in life while experiencing the beauty of Thailand.
We are looking for passionate volunteers older than 21 who have a strong command of English and a drive to make a positive impact on the world. By volunteering with us, you will play a crucial role in helping these children achieve their full potential, forming personal connections with them, and leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
We understand that volunteering abroad can be challenging, but rest assured that we provide a supportive environment for our volunteers. Our team is here to help you adjust to the culture and navigate your volunteer experience, so you can make the most of this life-changing opportunity.
We require a minimum commitment of two months, as we believe this is the minimum amount of time needed to make a real impact. However, longer stays of three or six months are available, allowing you to develop higher impact on the progress of the children and the foundation.
